This cartoon is right on. It seems to me that so often the theology of various Christian groups "comes across" as Well, I have a BETTER interpretation of the Bible. Or My view of God is quite a bit CLOSER to correct than the rest of them. And maybe there is some truth in those interpretations of various theologies, hard to say. In any case, I believe that the founders/original thinkers of various denominations were, for the most part, sincere. And the fact that there are various ways to interpret scripture shows that the human mind can only grasp a small part of God's ways and mind. But this gets translated into THE RIGHT WAY instead of ANOTHER VIEWPOINT. If we look at a mountain, we only see what is visible from a particular viewpoint. But go 20 miles away, and that mountain takes on another look. That's how I see theology and God. So then we put up the barriers to accepting that others also really do see God. That's the chains in the cartoon.
